65-MILE GRAVEL

If you are up for a big day, the 65-mile route will not disappoint. How does 5500 feet of climbing on dirt and gravel sound? We hope you weren’t expecting much pavement! Wild Horse Gravel will commence with a mass start, followed by a neutral roll out and quick jont through the Town of De Beque. From there, our Wild West gravel goes deep into the backcountry, taking in the full gamut of conditions: smooth, rugged, rutty, rocky, sandy, and steep.

When your lungs and legs are screaming at you, you’ll find solace in the beautiful landscapes and vast array of rock formations, to include the Valley of the Goblins. Be ready for a challenge!

This year’s course offers new terrain north of the ranch as you circle around the Horse Mountain Range and it will be timed for 55 consecutive miles, starting at mile 10 and finishing under the truss back at High Lonesome Ranch. Athletes racing the long course will be competing for a $5,000 cash purse, split evenly between women and men, and awarded to the top three finishers. Aid station locations are still pending but this course will include a minimum of two, perhaps three.

Cash Winnings, $5,000 up for grabs

No age categories, just Male and Female respectively

1st Place – $1,200

2nd Place – $800

3rd Place – $500
